Richard Johnson

Richard "Rick" Wayne Johnson, 66, of Spartanburg, SC, died Sunday, July 24, 2016, at Spartanburg Medical Center. Born January 24, 1950, in Chincoteague, VA, he was the son of the late Cecil and Iris McBee Johnson. Rick loved his entire family. He was an accomplished artist and poet and was also very interested in photography. He received an Associate Degree from Greenville Technical College, served in the U. S. Army 1st Calvary during the Vietnam War, was a longtime employee of Spartan Food System, and a member of Alverson Grove Baptist Church. Survivors include his children, Alexandra Johnson of Duncan, SC, Kristoffer Jason Johnson of Inman, SC, and Joshua Daniel Johnson of Spartanburg, SC; granddaughter, Leila Marie Mata; sisters, Constance Maxine Billings of Moore, SC and Tracy Lynn White of Spartanburg, SC; and brothers, Michael Joe Johnson and Thomas Randolph Johnson (Garnet), all of Spartanburg, SC. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 PM Wednesday, July 27, 2016, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 E. Main St., Spartanburg, SC 29307. A graveside service, with military rites, will be conducted at 10:00 AM Thursday, July 28, 2016, in Alverson Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, 3695 Peachtree Rd., Inman, SC 29349, by the Rev.
