Richard Malcolm Green, 77, of Boiling Springs, SC, died Thursday, October 31, 2013, at St. Francis Hospital-Greenville. Born September 30, 1936, in Spartanburg, SC, he was the son of the late Robert L. and Edna Shurburtt Green. A U. S. Army veteran, graduate of Spartanburg High School and East Tennessee State University in Johnson City, TN, he was a member of New Beginnings United Methodist Church, and retired from MEMC. An avid sports fan, he loved Wofford College football and the Boston Red Sox baseball team. Mr. Green previously served 16 years on the Spartanburg County District Two School Board. Survivors include his beloved wife of 50 years, Edythe Radford Green; children, Rick Green of Greenwood and Amy Green Wojcik (Mike) of Boiling Springs; two grandchildren; his twin sister, Rachel Mabry of Spartanburg, sister, Rebecca Settle (Lewis) of Spartanburg; and brother, Joe Green of Spartanburg. He was predeceased by a brother, Wayne Green of Boiling Springs. The family will receive friends 2:00-2:45 PM Sunday, November 3, 2013, at New Beginnings United Methodist Church, 210 Rainbow Lake Rd, Boiling Springs, SC. Funeral services will follow at 3:00 PM, at the church, officiated by the Rev. Terry Fleming.
