Richard Bost

Richard "Ric" McDaniel Bost, 57, of 491 Chippendale Lane, Boiling Springs died Sunday, February 6, 2011. Born June 5, 1953 in Rutherfordton, NC, he was the son of the late Edward Lee and Betty Frances James Bost. Ric was an industrial engineer with Freightliner Chassis since 1995 and was formerly employed with Spartan Mills, Milliken Research, and Mack Truck. He attended Clemson University and was a graduate of the University of South Carolina. He was an avid golfer and a true friend to many. Survivors include his wife of nineteen years, Jakie Allen Bost; a daughter, Holly Leigh Parris of Charleston; a son, Robert William Parris of Greenville; two grandchildren, Savannah Marie Parris and B. Tilton Doig; a brother, Jim Bost and his wife Susie of Edisto Island; two sisters, Sheila Bost Sistare and her husband Frank and Lee Bost Barron and her husband Bill, all of Spartanburg; two brothers-in-law, Donnie Allen of Columbia and James Allen of Boiling Springs; and two sisters-in-law, Barbara Schapiro of Rock Hill and Mary Ann Love of Moore. Visitation will be 10:00-10:45 AM Wednesday, February 9, 2011 at Morningside Baptist Church. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 AM in the Church Sanctuary, conducted by the Rev. Dr. Kirk H. Neely. The family will receive friends following the service at 2633 Country Club Road. Memorials may be made to Mobile Meals, P.O. Drawer 461, Spartanburg, SC 29304.
