Rhonda Costner

Rhonda Greene Costner, 57, of Spartanburg, SC, died Saturday, October 10, 2015 at her home. She leaves behind her devoted husband of 35 years, William Lloyd Costner and three loving sons, Joshua Lloyd Costner of New York, NY, Jacob Austin Costner of Charleston, SC, and Jordan Sexton Costner (Mallorie) of Cheraw, SC. Rhonda was born December 13, 1957, in Birmingham, AL, to Robert Grayson Greene and Wilma Royer Greene, both of Spartanburg, SC. She is also survived by brothers, Robert Michael Greene of Greenville, SC, Mitchell Grayson Greene of Beaufort, SC; and sister, Kim Greene Fellner (Bob) of Charleston, SC. Rhonda had a passion for serving others which was most evident in her relationship with her family, as she always sought to place the needs of others above her own. She carried that same attitude into her career serving over 30 years as a Registered Nurse (RN). She graduated with a degree in nursing from the University of South Carolina (USC) and began working in the Intensive Care Unit. She later earned her Master's Degree in Nursing Administration from USC and held leadership positions in numerous hospitals and healthcare companies over her career. Those positions led Rhonda into hospice care. She found her service in care to be the most rewarding as she advocated for the needs of patients and their families facing difficult end-of-life decisions. Rhonda was a member of First Baptist Church Spartanburg, as well as a member of national hospice organizations. She enjoyed traveling and spending time with those she cared about.
