Rhita Wrightson

Rhita Bissell Wrightson, 85, of 400 Webber Road, died Sunday, January 9, 2011, at White Oak Estates. Born May 1, 1925 in Spartanburg, Mrs. Wrightson was a daughter of the late Samuel Wickham and Claudia Howell Bissell and was married to the late Joseph Eugene Wrightson. A graduate of Converse College, she was a retired executive with Milliken Chemical, was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, Altrusa International, and was a communicant of St. Matthew's Episcopal Church. Mrs. Wrightson is survived by two nieces, Margaret Bissell Walker and Anna Bissell Bourne; and a nephew, Ralph M. Hendrix. She was also predeceased by two brothers, Samuel W. Bissell, Jr. and Gregg C. Bissell; two sisters, Nelle Bissell Meetze and Sarah Bissell Hendrix; and two nephews, Samuel Wickham Bissell, III and Gregg C. Bissell, Jr. Graveside service will be held at 12:00 noon Friday, January 14, 2011, at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, conducted by the Rev. Robert L. Brown.
