Rev. Williams, Jr.

Rev. G. Ray Williams Jr., 90, of Spartanburg, SC, died Tuesday, December 23, 2014, at Spartanburg Medical Center. Born October 17, 1924, in Spartanburg, he was a son of the late Geddy Ray Williams Sr. and Sarah Jolly Williams. A veteran of the United States Merchant Marines, Reverend Williams was a graduate of Columbia Bible College and was a proud and faithful servant of his Lord Jesus Christ. During his many years of ministry, he pastored many churches in South Carolina, throughout the nation, and as a missionary to South Africa. Survivors include his wife of 70 years, Emma Esther Moon Williams; sons, James Steven Williams and his wife Debbie of Summerville, SC, and Gary Forrest Williams of Boiling Springs, SC; and grandchildren, Megan Williams, Ray Williams, Laura Tanner, Tony Williams, and Christina Williams. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a son, Ray Theodore Williams. Visitation will be 1:30-2:30 PM Sunday, December 28, 2014, at Floyd's Boiling Springs Chapel, 4161 Hwy 9 N, Boiling Springs, SC 29316. A graveside service will follow at 3:00 PM in Boiling Springs Memorial Gardens, 4081 Hwy 9 N, Boiling Springs, SC 29316, conducted by the Rev. Dr. Kenneth Cassillas.
