Rev. Gary Paul Vining, 71, of Spindale, NC, died Saturday, May 2, 2015 at Spartanburg Medical Center. He was born February 14, 1944, in Evadale, Texas, to the late Lawrence Adam and Lenore Hohensee Vining. He was retired as the Minister of Apostolics of Rutherford County, Forest City, NC and has pastored six churches over the entirety of his life. His love of the Lord and his family was his greatest joy. He is survived by his beloved wife of 33 years, Anita "Cookie" Byrd Vining; sons, Jeff Vining (Sissi) of Baton Rouge, LA; Barry Vining (Shannon) of Dallas TX; daughter, Dr. Julie May (Greg) of Hattiesburg, MS; stepsons, Jeff Eppinette (Lisa) of Mt. Holly, NC; and Greg Eppinette (Andrea) of West Monroe, LA; 11 grandchildren; and brother, James "Bill" Vining (Roberta) of Franklin, LA. The family will receive friends 6:00 - 8:00 PM Monday, May 4, 2015 at Floyd's North Church Street Chapel, 235 N. Church Street, Spartanburg, SC 29306. A Celebration of Life will be conducted at 6:30 PM, Tuesday, May 5, 2015, Pentecostals of Spartanburg, 740 Falling Creek Road, Spartanburg, SC 29301, with the Rev. Larry Wilks and the Rev. David Elms officiating. Memorials may be made to Pentecostals of Spartanburg, 740 Falling Creek Road, Spartanburg, SC 29301.
