Rev. Anthony "Tony" Gene Martin, 61, of Spartanburg, SC, died Sunday, March 26, 2017, at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home. Born September 17, 1955, in Spartanburg, he was the son of Bobby Gene Martin of Spartanburg, SC and the late Alva Dial Martin. Rev. Martin received his Master's in Divinity from Southeastern Seminary and retired from the Baptist and Methodist churches. He served in ministry in the Baptist church and retired from the Methodist church. He was a former member and Music Director at Green Street Baptist Church and current member of First Baptist of Spartanburg. Visitation will be 1:00-1:45 PM Wednesday, March 29, 2017, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 E. Main St., Spartanburg, SC 29307. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 PM, at the Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Larry Fleming and the Rev. Thomas Moore. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Luke's Free Medical Clinic, PO Box 3466, Spartanburg, SC 29304 online at www.slfmc.org/donors.
