Rev. Coggins

Rev. Chalmers Harrison Coggins, 84, of Spartanburg, died Thursday, August 18, 2011. Born August 8, 1927, in Clifton, SC, he was the son of the late Hadden Henry and Mae Mitchell Coggins, and husband of the late Geraldine Taylor Coggins. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. Rev. Coggins was a member of First Baptist Church of Spartanburg, a Baptist minister, and retired quality control inspector. Survivors include his children, Oran Coggins, wife Brenda, of Dillon, Denise Coggins of Spartanburg, Lynn Coggins, wife Pamela, of Spartanburg, and Warren Coggins, wife Ruthanne, of Simpsonville. Visitation will be 10:00-10:45 AM Saturday, August 20, 2011, at Zion Hill Baptist Church. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 AM, in the church, conducted by the Rev. Keith Davis and the Rev. W. C. "Bill" Adams. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
