Ressie Plexico

Ressie Johnson Plexico, beloved Mother, Grandmother, and friend to all, went to be with her Lord on Friday, November 30, 2012. Born on May 14, 1931 in Lone Mountain, TN, she was the widow of L. D. Plexico and the daughter of the late Rufus and Ocie Leedy Johnson. Surviving are daughter, Donna O' Shields Hayes and husband Tom Hayes; two grandchildren, Jennifer Hayes Duarte and husband Pedro and Graham Michael Hayes; one great-grandchild, Oliver Thomas Duarte, all of Jacksonville, FL; and two surviving brothers, Hubert Johnson and Frank Johnson of Kokomo, IN. Mrs. Plexico's previously deceased siblings include Floyd Johnson, Grace Ogle, Hattie Kitts, Truman Johnson all of Kokomo, IN, Anna B. Hatchette and Mattie Brannon of Spartanburg, and Nell Thomas of Tazwell, TN. A resident of Spartanburg for over 60 years, Mrs. Plexico was dedicated to the service of others. She devoted much of her time as a caregiver and volunteer. In the spirit of Ressie's dedicated service to others, in lieu of flowers, donations to Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home Home, 686 Jeff Davis Drive, Spartanburg, SC 29303 would be greatly appreciated. A memorial service will be held at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel at 4:00 PM, Sunday, December 2, 2012, conducted by Pastor Randy Lewis. A visitation will immediately follow the service.
