Rena Thomason

Rena McAbee Thomason, 84, of Spartanburg died Wednesday, January 5, 2011 at White Oak Manor. Born September 16, 1926 in Spartanburg, she was the daughter of the late Malcolm Sr. and Flemer Easler McAbee and wife of the late Lance D. Thomason. Rena was the former Bookkeeper for Thomason Plumbing. She was a member of First Baptist North Spartanburg and a member of the Whitney Fire Department Women's Auxiliary. Survivors include two daughters, Carole Parris and Lynn (Terry) Senn of Spartanburg; two brothers, Harold McAbee and Malcolm McAbee; a sister, June Ray; five grandchildren; and five great-granchildren. She was predeceased by a daughter, Beth Baynard; and three sisters, Wilma Cox, Marcelle Scogin, and Betty Turner. Graveside services will be held at 4:00 p.m. Friday, January 7, 2011 at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, conducted by Rex Blanton. Visitation will follow at the graveside.
