Reina Fernandez

Reina R. Fernandez, 78, of Spartanburg, SC, died Tuesday, January 7, 2014, at Mary Black Memorial Hospital. Born March 4, 1935, in Matanzas, Cuba, she was the daughter of the late Juan Rodriguez and Vicenta Nodarce Rodriguez. Mrs. Fernandez was a member of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church. She retired from S&S Manufacturing after 20 years of service. Surviving is her loving husband of 62 years, Jose Miguel Fernandez; children, Elba Funderburk (Keith) of Spartanburg, SC, Elena Carter of Irmo, SC, Miguel Fernandez (Patty) and Evelin Henderson (Mark), all of Spartanburg, SC; grandchildren, Rebecca Funderburk of Spartanburg, SC, Morgan Fernandez of Charlotte, NC, Marshall Carter of Lexington, SC, Stanley Carter and Michael Carter, both of Columbia, SC, Luke Henderson and Lance Henderson, both of Spartanburg, SC; great-grandchildren, Logan Carter, Angelica R. Carter, Wyndolyn Carter, Aerith Carter, and Faryn Cater; two sisters and one brother in Cuba. She was predeceased by a grandson, Michael Fernandez; and a granddaughter, Angelica M. Carter. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 PM Thursday, January 9, 2014, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 E. Main St., Spartanburg, SC 29307. Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 PM Friday, January 10, 2014, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, by the Rev. Mr. Robert McAfee. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307.
