Rebecca "Beckie" Cook Phillips, 63, of Spartanburg, died Thursday, January 31, 2013, at her home. Born November 10, 1949, in Cayce, SC, she was the daughter of John Carl Cook of Cayce, SC, and the late Jimmie Estelle Thomas Cook. Mrs. Phillips was retired from Bellsouth where she was a service assistant in charge of the phone center for 30-plus years. She was a member of Fairforest Church of God, The Gamecock Club, and an avid football fan. In addition to her father, she is survived by her daughter, Melissa Morris Compton and her husband Mark of Enoree, SC; brothers, Tommy Cook of Myrtle Beach, SC, and Johnny Cook of N. Columbia, SC; and nephews, Ryan and Braden Cook of NC. She was predeceased by her husband, James Keith Phillips; daughter, April Morris; and son, Kevin Morris. Visitation will be 2:00-3:15 PM Sunday, February 3, 2013, at Fairforest Church of God. Funeral services will follow at 3:30 PM, at the church, conducted by the Rev. John Petty III. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Fairforest Church of God, PO Box 465, Fairforest, SC 29336. The family is at the home.
