Reba Shue

Reba B. Shue, 65, of 165 Riveroak Drive, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, September 8, 2010 at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. Born August 31, 1945 in Mt. Pleasant, NC, she was the daughter of the late Lipe Barrier, Sr. and Evelyn Blackwelder Barrier. She grew up in Mount Pleasant, NC and married in 1964 relocating to SC in 1971. She was a member of First Baptist Church of North Spartanburg where she worked nearly twenty years as a teacher in the kindergarten Department, Sunday School, and Children's Church. After receiving her Masters in Education from USCS, she taught in District 1 Schools retiring in 2007. She was a beloved Christian wife, mother, and teacher who will be remembered for her love of children and kindness to others. Survivors include her husband, Archie Lee Shue; a daughter, Leslie Shue Molloy and husband Laurence of Lebanon, NJ; a son, Eric Lyn Shue and wife Jennifer Barnes Shue of Walnut Grove, SC; two sisters, Cynthia Rogers of Winston-Salem, NC and Sharon Barrier of Harrisburg, NC; three brothers, Lipe Barrier, Jr and wife Renda of Salisbury, NC, Mike Barrier and wife Nona of Mt. Pleasant, NC and Dan Barrier, also of Mt. Pleasant, NC; and grandchildren, Trevor and Lydia Shue and Aubrey and Jordan Molloy. She was predeceased by a granddaughter, Jenna Shue. Visitation will be 11:00 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. Saturday, September 11, 2010 at First Baptist Church of North Spartanburg. Funeral services will follow at 1:00 p.m. at the Church, conducted by the Rev. Dr. Michael S. Hamlet. Burial will be in Good Shepherd Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of North Spartanburg Building Fund, 8740 Asheville Highway, Spartanburg, SC 29316.
