Reba Rothrock

Reba Deaton Rothrock, 93, of Spartanburg, SC, passed away Monday, March 20, 2023 at home. Born November 4, 1929 in Spartanburg County, she was the daughter of the late Clyde Vernon and Ida Crocker Deaton and the wife of the late David Benton Rothrock for 60 years.

Reba was a graduate of Pacolet High School and Spartanburg Methodist College. She worked in textiles at Arkwright Mills until the age of 78. She enjoyed working and loved helping others.

Survivors include her sons, David Rothrock (Joyce) and Paul Rothrock (Tammy), all of Spartanburg; a granddaughter, Heather Rothrock; two grandsons, Michael Rothrock (Ann Marie) and Justin Rothrock (Gracie); her brother, Roy Deaton; seven grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was predeceased by her sisters, Alice Deaton, Henrietta Brown, Minnie Thompson, and Mary Gilmer; and her brothers, Bryant Deaton, Nathan Deaton and Nesbitt Deaton.

Graveside service will be at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, March 23, 2023 in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Road, Spartanburg, SC 29307, conducted by The Rev. Michael Hutchins. Visitation will follow at the graveside.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
