Rear Admiral James C. Yeargin passed away peacefully on August 7, 2014 after a long courageous battle with cancer. He was born on October 10, 1936, in Spartanburg, and was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. A.B. Yeargin. A graduate of Spartanburg High School (Class of 1955), he received his Doctor of Dental degree from Emory University in Atlanta. During his career in the U. S. Navy, Admiral Yeargin has many positions of national responsibility and received numerous citations, awards and medals, including some from the President of the United States. Admiral Yeargin is survived by the love of his life, Bunny, of the home; and two nieces and a nephew. He was predeceased by his parents and his brother, Don Yeargin.
