Raymond Cothran

Raymond Horace Cothran, 90, of Spartanburg, SC, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Tuesday, April 28, 2015. Born February 28, 1925, in Rutherford County, NC, he was the son of the late Roy Haynes and Lizzie Ford Cothran, and husband of the late Jennie Rae Cothran. Mr. Cothran was a veteran of the United States Navy serving during WW II and a Purple Heart recipient. He was retired from Spartan Mills and of the Baptist faith. Survivors include his son, Roy Cothran of Boiling Springs, SC; daughter, Reba Hunt (Jeff) of Pauline, SC; granddaughters, Dana Gullickson (Todd) of Spartanburg, SC and Brandi Langston, (Michael) of Pauline, SC; great grandsons, Travis, Timothy and Justin Gullickson, and Ian Langston; great granddaughter, Stephanie Dyar (Jesse); and sister, Sarah Blackwell. He was predeceased by brother, Robert Cothran; sister, Mary Bellew; and sons, Michael and Duane Cothran. Graveside services will be at 11:00 AM, on Friday, May 1, 2015, in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307, conducted by the Rev. Allen Elder. Visitation will follow the service at the graveside. The family is at the home of Reba and Jeff Hunt, 1321 Blackstock Road, Pauline, SC 29374.
