Ray Martin

Ray B. Martin, 71, of Spartanburg, died Friday, September 28, 2012, at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home. Born June 7, 1941, in Spartanburg County, he was the son of the late Hiley Rowland and Daisy Blackwood Martin. Mr. Martin was formerly employed with Asplundh Tree Service, YC Ballenger Electrical Contractors, and Jesse Davis Electrical Contractors. He was a member of Mill Village Masonic Lodge #360, loved flea markets, yard sales, landscaping, hunting, and fishing. He was of the Baptist faith. Surviving is his wife, Janice Elaine Fowler Martin; daughter, Kay Martin Ward of Spartanburg, SC; sons, Steven Dean Martin and wife Ruthie of Wellford, SC, and Timothy Brent Martin and wife Becca of Landrum, SC; 8 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; brother, Wesley Martin of Cowpens, SC; and sister, Glenda Neal of Cowpens, SC. He was predeceased by a daughter, Vicki Rae Martin Pye; three sisters; and two brothers. He loved all his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and family. Grandchildren, Gracie and Kane were the love of his life. Visitation will be 1:30-2:45 PM Sunday, September 30, 2012, at Floyd's Pacolet Chapel. Funeral services will follow at 3:00 PM, at the Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Michael Boyter. Burial, with Masonic rites, will be in Pacolet Memorial Gardens.
