Ravi Vuppala 63, passed away on Wednesday, November 27, 2024, in Durham, North Carolina. Ravi was born on January 3, 1961, in Guntur, India, to Gopala and Lalitha Vuppala. He was a loving husband, son and uncle, filled with compassion for all those around him. A dedicated professional, with diverse experience in business and technology, Ravi was known as someone who impacted many lives deeply.
For the last five years he was an entrepreneur and franchisee of McDonald’s in Spartanburg, SC. Throughout his career, Ravi embodied strong entrepreneurial creativity and dynamism. Ravi enjoyed photography, investing, and most importantly helping people. Known for his deep commitment to the community, Ravi’s purpose and passion lie in helping those in need. He touched the lives of many friends, and strangers who felt stronger with him by their side.
Ravi started his career after earning a BS in Accounting from University of Missouri-Kansas City, and achieving an MBA in Business from Central Missouri State University. His career spanned significant roles, including serving as a partner at Accenture, a prominent global technology consulting company. Ravi's business acumen, creativity, and innovative mindset were instrumental in his ventures and the growth of those who were fortunate to work with him.
Ravi is survived by his loving wife of twenty-eight years; Switi Thakkar; his father, Gopala Rao Vuppala; two brothers, Ashok and Bhaskar Vuppala; a sister, Sreelalitha Nadella (Vamsi); and a host of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, Lalitha Vuppala.
A visitation for Ravi will be held on Saturday, November 30, 2024, at Floyd’s Greenlawn Chapel located at 2075 East Main Street Spartanburg, South Carolina 29307. Friends and family are invited to pay their respects from 3:30 PM to 4:30 PM.
Ravi Vuppala's legacy of compassion and commitment to community service, and professional excellence will be remembered by all whose lives he touched.
