Ralph Pierce Harris, 94, of Spartanburg, SC, died Wednesday, August 10, 2016, at his home. Born March 24, 1922, in Union County, SC, he was the son of the late Wallace and Juanita Sims Harris and husband of the late Mary V. Harris to whom he was married for 66 years and was the love of his life. A World War II US Army Air Corps veteran, Mr. Harris was a retired manager with Southern Bell with over 30 years of service. He was a member of Southern Bell Pioneers and First Presbyterian Church Spartanburg and was attending Abner Baptist Church of Spartanburg. Survivors include his daughter, Kitsy Robertson of the home; granddaughters and their husbands, Kristen McClain (Tony) of Duncan, SC, Amy Young (Mike) of Boiling Springs, SC, and Dawn Sharrett (Scott) of Chesnee, SC; seven grandchildren, Karolyn, Miranda, Abigail, Jessica, Trevor, Trent and Timothy; brother-in-law, Jim Prince of Petersburg, VA and special cousin, Deanie Rector of Union, SC. In addition to his parents and wife, he was predeceased by a daughter, Carolyn Hanning; brother, Wallace S. Harris, Jr. and sisters, Virginia Harris Wilson and Mary Prince. Visitation will be 9:30-10:30 AM Saturday, August 13, 2016, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 E. Main St., Spartanburg, SC. Graveside services will follow at 11:00 AM in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307, conducted by the Rev. John Cox.
