Ralph Gilbert

Calvin Ralph Gilbert, 47, of 173 McDowell Road, Inman, died Thursday, December 15, 2011. Born July 30, 1964, in Spartanburg, SC, he was a son of Lloyd Calvin Gilbert of Boiling Springs, SC, and the late Ellen Varner Gilbert Stephens and stepson of Judy L. Gilbert. He was formerly employed with J. G. Services, attended Mt. Zion Tabernacle, and loved his family, fishing, and playing the drums. He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Debra "Debbie" Lynn Johnson Gilbert; six sons, Andrew Gilbert of Virginia, Adam, Aaron, Alex and Abel Gilbert, all of Inman, and Jonathan Gilbert and Kristie McDowell of Mayo; a granddaughter, Shyla Gilbert; four sisters, Lisa Stanley of Virginia, Amanda Caulder and Pam Gilbert, both of Boiling Springs, and Melissa Cromer of Spartanburg; and a brother, Lewis Stephens of Rock Hill, SC. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 PM on Monday, December 19, 2011, at Floyd's Boiling Springs Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, December 20, 2011, at Mt. Zion Tabernacle, conducted by the Rev. Kevin Mayfield and the Rev. Todd Johnson. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
