Ralph Dillard

Ralph Walker Dillard, 93, of Pacolet, SC, died Monday, February 27, 2017, at his home. Born November 29, 1923, in Pacolet, he was the son of the late Luther Harley and Estelle Brown Dillard. A U. S. Navy veteran, Mr. Dillard was a member of Pacolet United Methodist Church and retired from Ivey Electric after 45 years of service. He loved his family and cherished the annual beach trip with them. He also enjoyed gardening, farming, hunting, and was an avid Clemson football fan. Surviving are his wife of 59 years, Mary Jo Robinette Dillard of the home; children, Robin Pullen (Paul) of Landrum, SC, Angela Fleming of Spartanburg, SC, David Dillard (Micha) and Scarlette Dillinger (Tim), all of Pacolet, SC; grandchildren, Heath, Brandon, Jordy, Anna, Whitney, Harli, Chayce, Kaci, Dillon, Justin, and Jacob; great-grandchildren, Wilson, Lane, Bristol, Hudson, Jack, Clara, and "3 more boys on the way"; special nephew, Ronnie Dickson (Kathy); and special pet "Crystal". In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a son, Ernie Dillard; sister, Ruby Dickson; and brother, Ernest Dillard. Special thanks and appreciation are expressed to caregivers Gwen and Kenyatta. Visitation will be 12:30-1:45 PM Thursday, March 2, 2017, at Pacolet United Methodist Church, 110 Glenn Springs Rd., Pacolet, SC 29372. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 PM, at the church, conducted by the Rev. Jimmy Dillard and Pastor Lisa Parfitt. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307.
