Rachel R. Quinn, a beloved mother, grandmother, and aunt, passed away on Friday, August 4, 2023. She was born on August 12, 1940, in Roebuck, South Carolina. Rachel embodied strength, kindness, and love throughout her life.
Rachel graduated from Roebuck High School and went on to work as a Computer Programmer with Waste Management of Spartanburg and dedicated many years to serving her community through her work. She approached every task with enthusiasm and a diligent work ethic that inspired those around her.
Family was paramount to Rachel, and her loved ones held a special place in her heart. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ronald Quinn "Doc," in 2001, and two devoted sisters: Cornelia McPherson and Faye Rhodes.
She is survived by Rhonda Mabry (Jack) of Chesnee SC, Rodney W. Quinn of Roebuck SC, Trey Mabry (Meghan) of St. Augustine FL, John Wesley Mabry (Emily) of Rutherfordton NC, Judson Mabry (great-grandson), Henry Mabry (great-grandson), William Mabry (great-grandson), and numerous nieces and nephews who affectionately called her "Rhett." Rachel's impact on these individuals' lives cannot be overstated; she was a source of strength and unwavering support for each one of them.
During difficult times, Rachel's nephew, Randy and his wife, Sherry McPherson were always there for her. They provided sacrificial time, accompanied her to doctor's appointments, and offered invaluable support during her the times she visited them in their home. Their dedication and love were truly commendable, and Rachel's gratitude for their devotion knew no bounds.
Her Graveside Service will be held on Wednesday, August 9, 2023, at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens in Spartanburg, South Carolina at 10:00 AM, followed by the family receiving friends, immediately following the graveside service. The address is 1300 Fernwood Glendale Rd, Spartanburg.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Rachel's honor to Carolina Pregnancy Center, 103 Metro Drive, Suite A, Spartanburg, SC 29303 or Mobile Meals, 419 East Main Street, Spartanburg, SC 29302.
