Rachel Mcleod

Rachel Lillian Crutchfield McLeod, 72, of Spartanburg, died Monday, July 30, 2012, at her home. Born March 12, 1940, in Durham, NC, she was the daughter of the late Ernest Nathan and Anna Ridgeway Miller Crutchfield. Rachel graduated Durham High School Class of 1958. She was a beloved wife and mother, a longtime devoted member of Westminster Presbyterian Church, an Encouragement Circle member, and volunteer for Mobile Meals Service. She enjoyed spending time with her husband, children and grandchildren, and loved traveling. Surviving are her dearly loved husband, of nearly 50 years, William Lawrence "Mac" McLeod, Jr.; sons, William Keith McLeod and wife Georgeanna of Charleston, SC, and Steven Lawrence McLeod and wife Julie of Anderson, SC; daughter, Laura McLeod Green and husband Jimmy of Mauldin, SC; grandchildren, Julie McLeod, Kelly McLeod, Emily McLeod, Lindsey McLeod, Porter McLeod, Anna Miller Green, Lauren Green, James Green, Lillian Green, and McLeod Green; and a sister, Betsy Buchanan of Lexington, NC. She was preceded in death by her sister, Anna Crutchfield Wright of Durham, NC. A memorial service will be conducted at 2:00 PM Thursday, August 2, 2012, at Westminster Presbyterian Church, by the Rev. Steve Wise. Visitation will follow the service in the church Fellowship Hall.
