Rachel Louise Raines Brown, 80, of Gaffney, SC, formerly of Spartanburg, SC, died Monday, February 27, 2023, surrounded by her family. Born September 1, 1942 in Spartanburg, SC, she was the daughter of the late Rathel and Mildred Emory Raines, and the wife of the late Lawrence E. Brown for 40 years.

Rachel was retired from B & J Restaurant. She was a lifetime member of the VFW Post 9539.

Survivors include her daughters, Mary Atkins (Ben) of Gaffney, SC and Tina Brown of Moore, SC; her son, Benjamin Brown of Charleston, SC; 11 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; and her siblings, Mary Linder of Gaffney, SC; and her brother, Marvin Raines (Ann) of Inman, SC. In addition to her husband, Rachel was predeceased by her siblings, Margaret Raines and George Raines.

Graveside service will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 2, 2023 in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Road, Spartanburg, SC 29307, conducted by Pastor Greg Little. Visitation will follow after the service.
