Robert Cecil Cooper, 86, of 119 Park Street, died Thursday, April 16, 2009, at his home. Born May 8, 1922, in Spartanburg County, SC, he was the son of the late John and Kate Johnson Cooper. He was employed for many years at Arkwright Mill and retired from HealthTex. He was a member of Central Baptist Church and a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II, serving in the Philippines. Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Bertha Barnett Cooper; two daughters, Diane Skinner and her husband Roger, and Doris Turner, all of Spartanburg; three granddaughters, Julia Turner, and Katrina Fitzgerald and her husband Brett, all of Boiling Springs, and Reagan Skinner of Columbia; two grandsons, Derek Skinner of Spartanburg, and Ryan Skinner and his wife Gina of Boiling Springs; two great-granddaughters, Sarah and Emily Fitzgerald; two great-grandsons, Jordan and Carson Skinner; and several nieces and nephews. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. Visitation will be 2:30-3:15 p.m. Saturday, April 18, 2009, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel. Funeral services will follow at 3:30 p.m. at the Chapel conducted by the Rev. Robert A. Ivey. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to Mobile Meals Service, P. O.
