Prentice Bishop

Prentice R. "Pat" Bishop, 79, of Spartanburg, formerly of Cowpens, died Monday, December 12, 2011, at Park Place Assisted Living. Born April 30, 1932, in Cowpens, he was the son of the late William Madison and Rosa Lee Gossett Bishop. Pat is survived by his wife, Kathleen Edge Bishop, her children, and grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother, Charles Berlin Bishop and wife Mary Lou; and nine nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Vivian Gustine; and brothers, Shannon Archer "S. A." Bishop and Harry Edward Bishop. Visitation will be 5:00-7:00 PM Wednesday, December 14, 2011, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Thursday, December 15, 2011, at Salem United Methodist Church, by his nephew, the Rev. Randy Bishop, and the Rev. Roye Lynn Kulik. Burial will be in Daniel Morgan Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to Salem United Methodist Church, PO Box 160, Cowpens, SC 29330. The family is at their respective homes.
