Phyllis Powell

Phyllis Powell, 79, of Fairforest, SC, died Friday, January 25, 2019 at Spartanburg Medical Center. Born October 19, 1939 in Inman, SC, she was the daughter of the late James and Lucille Rodney Bishop. Phyllis was a member of Progress Baptist Church of Hendersonville, NC and was a homemaker. Survivors include her husband, Robert C. Powell; sons, Timothy Powell (Kim) of Boiling Springs, SC and James Powell (Jamie) of Pacolet, SC; granddaughters, Katie, Katlyne, Nicole, and Miranda and a grandson, Tracey, all of whom reside in Spartanburg, SC; and a sister, Lenora Greenway (Joe) of Inman, SC. She was also predeceased by a son, Robert Powell, and sisters, Loraine Jenkins and Gail Waldrop. Visitation will be 1:00 - 1:45 PM Wednesday, January 30, 2019 at Trinity Baptist Church, 390 Wingo Heights Road, Spartanburg, SC 29303. Funeral service will be at 2:00 PM, at the church, conducted by The Rev. Doug Raynes. Burial will follow in Fort Prince Memorial Gardens, 125 Fort Prince Road, Wellford, SC 29385.
