Phillip Shepard

Phillip Shepard, 76, of Woodruff, SC, died Wednesday, September 23, 2015, at Spartanburg Medical Center. Born February 1, 1939, in Cincinnati, OH, he was the son of the late Richard W. and Jane Campbell Shepard. A U. S. Air Force veteran of the Vietnam War, Mr. Shepard was a member of the Spartanburg VFW and American Legion #33 in Woodruff. He received his BS Degree from Cumberland College and retired from Black & Decker. Surviving are his children, Shannon Shepard (Lea) of Woodruff, SC, Yvonne Desormeaux (Harry Beidleman) of Concord, NC, and Maria Bourg (Gordon) of Vidor, TX; grandchildren, Allen Lee Shepard, Justin Edward Shepard, Amber Cape Kachmer, Heather Elliott, Jamie Weneck, Dalton Foster, and Bryson Foster; great-grandchildren, Mason Kachmer and Delilah Kachmer; brother, Ralph Shepard of Tampa, FL; and sister, Ann Piepenbrink of Coco Beach, FL. The family will receive friends from 4:00-6:00 PM Saturday, September 26, 2015 at the home at 111 Forest Drive, Woodruff, SC. Private services will be held at a later date. Burial will be in Lakeland Memorial Gardens, Lakeland, FL. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to American Legion Post #33, 6998 SC Hwy-101, Woodruff, SC 29388.
