Phillip Andrew Seifert, 30, of Spartanburg, died Thursday, September 24, 2009, at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center of a sudden illness. Born October 4, 1978, in San Diego, CA, he was the son of Linda Ivey Seifert of Spartanburg and the late Donald Lee Seifert. He is the husband of Kathie Brooks Seifert. He was a graduate of Broome High School and ITT Tech, was employed at VTS Security, and a member of Bethel United Methodist Church. He was a local dirt track racer. Surviving in addition to his mother and wife is a daughter, Cassie, of the home; a sister, Susannah Seifert Miller of Spartanburg; three uncles, Dan Ivey of Inman, William Ivey of London, England, and Harold Seifert of Pauline; and his paternal grandparents, Jim and Joanne Vermillion of Ocala, FL. He was predeceased by a brother, Brian Christopher Seifert; and his maternal grandparents, B. J. and Ionia Mabry Ivey. Visitation will be 1:00-3:00 p.m. Sunday, September 27, 2009, at Bethel United Methodist Church. Funeral services will follow at 3:30 p.m. at the Church conducted by the Rev. David B. Smith and Dr. David Ivey. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the memorial fund for Phillip Seifert Family Expenses, c/o SC Telco FCU, 130 North Town Drive, Spartanburg, SC 29303. The family is at the home of his uncle, Dan Ivey, 376 Edwards Road, Inman. An online guest register is available at www.floydmortuary.com.
