Phillip Edwin Johnson, Sr., 68, of 1160 Wilkins Road, passed away Monday, November 28, 2011, at his home. Born July 28, 1943, in Spartanburg, he was the son of the late Arthur Boyd and Alma Edmumds Johnson. Mr. Johnson was the owner of Phil Johnson Contracting of Inman, SC. He was a member of Cudd Memorial Baptist Church, Fairforest Masonic Lodge # 393, and Peach Blossom Car Club. Survivors include his wife, Loretta Wilson Johnson; daughter, Robin Johnson and husband Randy Henson of Boiling Springs; son, Dale Johnson of Boiling Springs; grandsons, Travis Johnson, Brandon Johnson, and Randy Henson, Jr.; great-granddaughter, Ava Johnson; stepdaughter, Shannon and husband James Warner of Alpharetta, GA; stepson, Brett Conner and wife Mandy of Lewisville, NC; six step-granddaughters; loving sisters, Elizabeth Upton of Spartanburg and Margie Hembree and husband Earl of Inman. He was predeceased by two sons, Phillip E. Johnson, Jr. and baby Johnson; and a brother, A. B. Johnson, Jr. Masonic Rites will be held at 5:30 PM with visitation following from 6:00-8:00 PM Tuesday, November 29, 2011, at Floyd's Boiling Springs Chapel. A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, November 30, 2011, at Cudd Memorial Baptist Church, conducted by the Rev. Danny Garrett. Honorary escort are members of Peach Blossom Car Club. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Cudd Memorial Baptist Church Playground Equipment Fund, 1302 Boiling Springs Road, Spartanburg, SC 29303. The family is at the home.
