Philip James Papadis, 45, of Spartanburg, died Friday, April 23, 2010, at his home. Born May 3, 1964, in Spartanburg, SC, he was the son of the late James George and Helen Stroggilis Papadis. A Wofford College and USC Law School graduate, he was an attorney and a member of the South Carolina Bar Association. He was a member of St. George Greek Orthodox Cathedral in Greenville where he was a Sunday school teacher and a volunteer at the Greek Festival doing church tours. Survivors include his wife, Angela Dufault Papadis; his son, Nicholas James Papadis; three sisters, Bessie Papadis of Spartanburg, Mary Koutroulias and her husband Dr. Stathe of Spartanburg, and Christine Liapis and her husband Andy of Burlington, NC; his brother, George J. Papadis and his wife Connie of Burlington, NC; nine nieces and nephews; his in-laws, Nicholas and Katherine Dufault of Spartanburg; and brother-in-law, Nektarios Dufault of Mt. Pleasant. He was predeceased by two children, Maria Therese Papadis and Jacob Philip Papadis. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 p.m. Monday, April 26, 2010, at the home of Nicholas and Katherine Dufault, 413 Mustang Drive, Forest Hills Subdivision, and 12:00-:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 27, 2010. at St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church. Funeral services will follow at 1:00 pm conducted by the Rev. Tom Pistolis and the Rev. George F. Nayfa. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Nicholas J. Papadis Trust c/o Arthur State Bank. The family is at the home of Nicholas and Katherine Dufault, 413 Mustang Drive, Forest Hills Subdivision, Spartanburg.
