Phil Duane Holden, 71, of Spartanburg, SC, died Thursday, September 11, 2014, at his home after a long illness. Born August 29, 1943, in Union, SC, he was the son of the late Ralph Holden and Ethel O'Dell Holden Kempel. Mr. Holden was a member of Park Hills Baptist Church, a graduate of the University of South Carolina, 1967, and an avid Gamecock supporter. He was the founder and owner of Holden's Ranch Restaurant for over 33 years, retiring in 2010. Survivors include his son, Tim (Gina) Holden of Wake Forest, NC; his daughter, Lizzy (Steven) Holden-Robinette of Spartanburg, SC; grandchildren, Greyson, Gigi, Graham, Ellie, Lydia, and Brandon Holden, all of Wake Forest, NC; a sister, Diane (Monty) King of Spartanburg, SC; and brothers, Alan Holden of Spartanburg, SC, and Ken (Beth) Holden of Georgetown, KY. Visitation will be 1:00-2:30 PM Sunday, September 14, 2014, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 E. Main St., Spartanburg, SC 29307. Funeral services will follow at 3:00 PM, at the Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Monty King and the Rev. Ken D. Holden. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307. Pallbearers are Chris King, Bryan King, Greyson Holden, Graham Holden, Jay Allen, and Robert Burnette.
