Perry Morris Lee passed away on Thursday, July 25, 2024, after a five-year battle against Alzheimer’s Disease. A devout Christian, he is now with his Lord. Perry was born on April 5, 1940, in Anderson, SC, a son of the late Joseph R. Lee and Ella Brown Lee. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Gary Lee.
Perry is survived by his wife of 36 years, Elaine; step-daughter, Elizabeth; sons, Neil Lee (Carolyn), Gregory Lee (Christy), and Andrew Lee (Brenda); his beloved sister, Hattie Crain; his much loved grandchildren, Nathan Lee, Matthew Lee, Cara Lee, Amber Lee, Brandon Lee and Taylor Lee; and numerous great-grandchildren.
The two greatest loves of his life were his family and the outdoors. He was happiest when he was with his loved ones and when he was hunting with his best friend, Mack Lewis. He spent decades working for Rexair, Inc. and was known throughout the Upstate as “Perry, The Rainbow Man”. Never one to lay up a treasure on this earth, he gave away much of what he had to people who needed it. He will be missed by so many.
The family will receive friends from 10:00-10:45 a.m. Wednesday, July 31, 2024, at Floyd’s North Church Street Chapel, 235 North Church Street, Spartanburg, SC 29306. Funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel conducted by the Rev. Dr. James C. Hilton. Burial will be in Westwood Memorial Gardens, 6101 Reidville Road, Moore, SC 29369.
The family wishes to express their deepest thanks to Agape for the loving care they gave to him during his illness, especially Jamie, LaToya, and Brianna, and to Michelle Griffin, his loved “Wednesday sidekick” who always made him smile.
