Peggy Wells

Peggy Ann Wells, 84, of Pacolet Mills, SC, died Thursday, February 9, 2017, at Martha Franks Baptist Retirement Community-Laurens. Born December 16, 1932, in Pacolet Mills, SC, she was the daughter of the late Lawrence "Bud" and Cleo Robinson Wells. Peggy was designated as the "family babysitter" and was also the "best big sister ever!" She loved her family, always making holidays special, and was also well loved at the Martha Franks Retirement Home. A member of Brown's Chapel Baptist Church, Peggy taught Sunday School, sang in the choir, taught Mission Friends and worked with the YWA. She retired from Musgrove Mills after many years of service. Surviving are her sisters, Ruby Lynn Mathis (George) and Aughtry Owens (Larry), all of Pacolet, SC; brothers, Ken Wells (Frankie) of Spartanburg, SC and Roger Wells (Nellie) of Pacolet, SC. She was loved by numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a brother, Buddy Wells; and sister, Eloise Kerr. Visitation will be 2:00-2:45 PM Sunday, February 12, 2017, at Brown's Chapel Baptist Church, 350 Green St., Pacolet, SC 29372. Funeral services will follow at 3:00 PM, at the church, conducted by the Rev. Ralph Jett and the Rev. Stephen Owens. Burial will be in Pacolet Memorial Gardens, 141 Memorial Drive, Pacolet, SC 29372.
