Peggy Thomas Sanford

Peggy Elizabeth Thomas Sanford, 68, of Inman, SC died Monday, May 30, 2022 at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home. Born February 22, 1954 in Spartanburg, SC, she was the daughter of Carl Ulysses and Pauline Thomas Matthews and the wife of the late Curtis Dean Barker.

Peggy was a homemaker. She was devoted to her Lord and all of her family. She was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include her granddaughters, Sheila Bagwell of Cowpens, SC and Rochelle Bagwell of North Carolina, four great grandchildren, sister, Carolyn Smith of Spartanburg, SC, stepdaughter, Tammy Ridings of Spartanburg, SC, stepsons, William Barker of Inman, SC, Dean Barker of Spartanburg, SC, and David Barker of Inman, SC. She was predeceased by her two daughters, Sheila Helms and Lillie Bagwell, a brother, Billy Joe Thomas, and her maternal grandparents, Zebulon and Lillie Thomas, who raised her in the home.

Visitation and the service will be conducted by the church and family.

Visitation will be at 5:00 – 5:50 pm Thursday, June 2, 2022 at Trinity Baptist Church Sanctuary, 390 Wingo Heights Road, Spartanburg, SC 29303. A Memorial service will be at 6:00 pm, at the church, conducted by The Rev. Shawn M. Rinehart.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home, 686 Jeff Davis Drive, Spartanburg, SC 29303.
