Peggy Philbeck

Peggy Joyce Coffey Philbeck, 81, of Boiling Springs, SC, loving wife of 62 years to Robert "Bob" Philbeck, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 21, 2017, at her home. Born July 1, 1935, in Caroleen, NC, she was the daughter of the late Raymond and Grace Roberts Coffey. A military wife (U. S. Air Force) for 22 years, Mrs. Philbeck loved to travel and visit the mountains. She was a member of Northbrook Baptist Church, the Adult Five Sunday School Class, and retired from Spartan Foods. In addition to her husband, survivors include a son, Billy Philbeck (Glenda) of Prosperity; 3 daughters, Nita Knight of Inman, Rita Gosnell of Spartanburg, and Mary Kimbrell (Frankie) of Boiling Springs; 8 grandchildren, Joshua Philbeck, Shannon Easler, Stacy Blain, Monica Allen, Kimberly Knight, April Cash, Brandon Kimbrell, and Amanda Mathis; 17 great-grandchildren; and brother and sisters, Barbara Baldwin (Johnny) of Virginia Beach, VA, Diane Cole and David Coffey, both of Forest City, NC. She was predeceased by a son, Robert "Bobby" Philbeck, Jr.; grandson, Justin Philbeck; great-grandson, William Jacob Philbeck; brothers, Junior Coffey, J. C. Coffey, and Lester Coffey; and sisters, Janette Coffey and Sheila Coffey. The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:45 PM Thursday, February 23, 2017, at Northbrook Baptist Church. Funeral services will follow at 3:00 PM, at the church, conducted by the Rev. Benny Green. Burial will be in Good Shepherd Memorial Park, 4164 Boiling Springs Rd., Boiling Springs, SC 29316. Pallbearers are Brandon Kimbrell, Nick Allen, Jeff Coffey, Ryan Coffey, Von Coffey, Sean Coffey, and Gary Scott.
