Peggy Dill

Peggy Jean Dill, 74, of Spartanburg, SC passed away Saturday, May 30, 2015. Born June 3, 1940, she was the daughter of the late Hugh Vance and Sarah Dill. After graduating from Spartanburg High School in 1958, she graduated with honors from Spartanburg Methodist College and USC-Spartanburg with a degree in Criminal Justice. She was retired from the Spartanburg County Sheriff's Department after 21 years of service and was the first female detective in Spartanburg County. Survivors include a brother, Earl (Estelle) Dill, of Spartanburg, SC; niece, Vickie (Billy) Robinson of Spartanburg, SC; nephew, Randy (Debbie) Dill of Georgia; great niece, Dana Wood of Spartanburg, SC; and a great nephew, Kevin Lanford of Spartanburg, SC; and two great-great nephews. She was predeceased by a brother, Bob Dill and by a longtime special friend, Sandra Blanchard Riddle. Visitation will be at 3:30 PM followed by graveside services at 4:00 PM, June 1, 2015 at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Road, Spartanburg, SC 29307, conducted by the Rev. Danny Blackwell. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Spartanburg Humane Society, 150 Dexter Road, Spartanburg, SC 29303. The family will be at their respective homes.
