Peggy Cordell

Peggy Jean Cudd Cordell, 81, of Spartanburg, died Thursday, August 30, 2012, at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home. Born July 23, 1931 in Spartanburg, SC, she was the daughter of the late Judge Crawford and Pearl Whisenant Cudd and wife of the late Harold E. Cordell. She retired from Phillips Fibers and was a member of Croft Baptist Church for over 50 years where she loved to sing in the choir. She was a member of Sweet Adeline's International Peach Piper Chapter and Hejaz Shrine Temple Noble's Wives. Survivors include daughters, Dona Sasko of Long Beach, NY and Marcia Clarkson of Spartanburg; adopted children, Guinevere Cordell, April Erwin and Timothy Cordell, all of Spartanburg; five grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren; brother, Jack Cudd of Cherokee Springs. She was predeceased by two sons, Harold E. "Buddy" Cordell, Jr. and Joseph Kevin Cordell, Sr. Visitation will be 2-2:45 PM Sunday, September 2, 2012 at Croft Baptist Church. Funeral services will follow at 3:00 PM in the Church, conducted by the Rev. Joe Dempsey. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
