Peggy would like for you to know that her work here is done. On July 28th, Peggy received an offer she couldn’t refuse for an appointment from which she will not be returning. She is now playing piano with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, whom she invited into her heart at a young age and has had a fulfilling relationship with since. Her new position relocated her to a wonderful place where music, love, and laughter are guaranteed. She is now reunited with her parents, Edmund David Malone and Ida Bell Graham Malone of Spartanburg, SC as well as other friends and family she hasn’t seen in a long time.
Peggy is survived and her memory cherished by her loving husband of 53 years, Virgil Cate of Spartanburg, SC. She is also survived and will be remembered by her sons David Cate (Carrie) of Iron Station, NC and Jason Cate (Heather) of Wilmington, NC. She was blessed with 3 grandchildren: Rhys, Mattison, and Jaxon. She is also survived by 2 sisters: Phyllis Whitmire of Spartanburg, SC and Patti Fowler (Mark) of Inman, SC.
The family will be receiving friends from 6:00-8:00 pm Tuesday, August 3, 2021, at Floyd’s Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 East Main Street, Spartanburg, SC 29307. We want to invite you to join us in celebration of her life at 10:00 am Wednesday, August 4, 2021 at Floyd’s Greenlawn Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Mark Fowler.
