Pearl Sellars Poole

Pearl Sellars Poole, 99, of Spartanburg, SC passed away Wednesday, December 18, 2024.

Born in Spartanburg, SC, she was the daughter of the late Gilbert Odell Sellars and Mary Barnett Sellars. Pearl was like a second mother to many. She was a long-time member of Converse Baptist Church, where she taught children’s Sunday School and was a member of the church’s hospitality group. Pearl was a jokester and very outgoing. Her favorite hobby was shopping.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Ray Poole; stepmother, Stella Sellars; sisters, Myrle Miller, Nettie Ruth Woolsey, Betty Seelinger, and Patricia Martinez; and brothers, W.R. Sellars, Charles Sellars, and Herbert Sellars. 

Left to cherish her memory are her devoted nephews, James Miller (Tammy), and Leroy Miller (Linda), Timothy Charles; sister, Janice Poland (Richard); brother, James Sellars (Opal); niece, Peggy Adair (Jene); grandnephews, James L. Miller, Jr. (Brandy), and Cody W. Miller (Kara); grandnieces, Glynda Miller and Meleia Best (Jayson); and great grandniece, Grace Miller. 

An entombment will be held at 10:00am Monday, December 23, 2024, at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens Mausoleum, with Mr. James Miller officiating.
