Pauline Kalangis

Pauline "Polly" Kalangis, 94, of Spartanburg, died Sunday, July 11, 2010 at Buena Vida Continuing Care Nursing Home in Brooklyn, NY. Born August 28, 1915, in New York City, she was the daughter of the late Nicholas and Stavroula Kakogiannis Variaktaris and the widow of Andrew Kalangis who died in 1979. She was a member of St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church. Survivors include her daughter, Georgia Allen of Brooklyn, NY; son, Anthony A. Kalangis of New York, NY; grandsons, Michael Andrew Allen of Spartanburg and Edward Dudley Allen, Jr. of Parshall, CO; great- granddaughters, Chelsey and Brittney Allen both of Spartanburg; and two great-great-grandchildren, Kaylee Frazer and Colton Allen Pitts. Visitation will be 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM Saturday, July 17, 2010 in the Church Fellowship Hall at St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 PM at the Church, conducted by the Rev. George F. Nayfa. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
