Paul Andrew Wilson, 88, of Spartanburg, SC, died Saturday, July 26, 2014 at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. Born January 8, 1926 in Lexington, SC, he was the son of the late John Carl Wilson and Blanche Redd Wilson. He was a graduate of Wofford College and attended the Executive School at University of North Carolina. He was a member of the Spartanburg Rotary Club, a Paul Harris Fellow, and a past District Governor of Rotary International. He also was an honorary member of Summit Rotary Club in Greensboro, NC where he served as a past President and Charter member. During his textile career, he worked for Draper Corporation as Senior Vice President and Rockwell International. Paul also volunteered as a Probation Officer working with the Juvenile First Offenders program at the Solicitor's Office. Paul was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Spartanburg, SC, where he joyfully and faithfully attended the Men's Bible Class (Purnell Class) and where fellow members will wonder just who will keep the blinds adjusted "just right" and distribute the red hymnals. Survivors include his loving wife of 63 years, Doris "Dottie" L. Wilson; a daughter, Ann (Dale) Stout of Greensboro, NC; sons, John Leonard (Jacqueline) Wilson of Hilton Head Island, SC; and Brian Carl (Celia) Wilson of Fort Mill, SC; eight grandchildren, Brooks (Paige) Stout, Benjamin Stout, Tom Wilson, Kelli Lust, Andrew Wilson, Sara (Tyler) Pace, Dori Wilson, John Paul Wilson; four great-grandchildren, Logan Stout, Matthew Lust, Kaitlyn Lust, and Cooper Wilson; brother, Gene Wilson of Aiken, SC. He was predeceased by four brothers and four sisters. Services will be 2:00 PM Tuesday, July 29, 2014 at First Presbyterian Church, 393 E. Main St., Spartanburg, SC 29302, by Rev. Dr. William L. Arthur and Rev. Joanne Hull. Visitation will follow services in the church fellowship hall. Members of Spartanburg Rotary Club, District Governors, and the Purnell Sunday School Class will be seated as honorary escorts.
