Paul Wheeler, Sr.

Paul Edward Wheeler, Sr., 64, of Spartanburg, died Saturday, September 24, 2011, at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. Born February 6, 1947, in Glendale, he was the son of the late Admiral Dewey and Mary Nelline Pruitt Wheeler. Mr. Wheeler was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church, and retired after 18 years as a truck driver. Survivors include his beloved wife of 41 years, Sondra Lee Blackburn Wheeler; daughters, Kassie Worthy (Tim), and Lori Putnam, all of Spartanburg; grandchildren, Chelsea, Isaiah, Dalton, and Greyson, also Trey and Dakota Grace Wheeler who were raised in the Wheeler home; a sister, Isabel Johnson (Mozy) of Enoree; brothers, Joe Wheeler of Boiling Springs and Gene Wheeler of Inman; son-in-law, Rick Hatchette of Spartanburg; mother-in-law, Katherine Blackburn; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his grandson, Jacob Lee Timothy Brock; son, Paul E. Wheeler Jr.; daughter, Paula Michelle Wheeler Hatchette; and sisters, Rachel and Lois Wheeler. Visitation will be 7:00-9:00 PM Tuesday, September 27, 2011, at Emmanuel Baptist Church. Funeral services will be conducted at 4:00 PM Wednesday, September 28, 2011, at Emmanuel Baptist Church, by the Rev. Frankie Taylor. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
