Paul Michael Leary, Sr.

Paul Michael Leary, Sr., passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 13, 2025, in Spartanburg, South Carolina, at the age of 82. Born on June 6, 1942, in Watertown, New York, he was the son of the late Clarence and Agnes Hughes Leary. 

Paul dedicated over 30 years of his life to a career as a truck driver, highlighting not only his strong work ethic but also his commitment to responsibility. In his retirement, Paul enjoyed the serenity of southern living while pursuing his passions. He was an avid hand radio operator and took a special interest in CB radios. Additionally, he found companionship in his feline friends, Shadow and Gracie, who brought joy to his everyday life.

Paul was known for his loving and kind demeanor, a trait that deeply resonated with all who knew him. He was a very good father to his three children: Michele Leary of Oswego, NY, Amy Leary of Spartanburg, SC, and Paul Leary, Jr. of Marcy, NY. He is also survived by his grandchildren—Brianna McWherter, Aaron Westbery, Karina Leavens, Kaela Leavens, Katy Leary, and Timothy Leary—as well as his great-grandchildren, Thoren, Vivian, Lana, Jaxsen, Ryan, and Benjamin. He is predeceased by his brother, Eugene Leary. Each family member held a special place in his heart, and he took pride in their accomplishments and happiness. 

Paul is remembered fondly by all who were touched by his kindness, generosity, and the cherished memories he created from the love he imparted to his family and friends.
