Paul Corne

Paul Edward Corne, 53, known by many as "Captain Paul", of 623 Greenhill Road, Spartanburg, SC 29303, formerly of Roanoke, VA, died Sunday, August 9, 2009. Born January 18, 1956, in Augusta, GA, he was the son of Joe Maxie Corne of Charlotte, NC and Betty Evans Corne Niezgoda of Spartanburg, SC. A graduate of Cave Spring High School in Roanoke, VA, he attended Shenandoah University in Winchester, VA and was a commercial fisherman and purveyor of fine seafood. He was a member of the Lion's Club and First Baptist Church in Roanoke, VA. In addition to his parents, he is survived by a step-father, Bob Niezgoda of Spartanburg, SC; brother, Joey Corne of Los Angeles, CA; two sisters, Carole Corne Miller of Waxhaw, NC, and Faith Corne Avelis of Gloucester, MA; a god-son, Richard H.
