Patricia Porter

Patricia Lynne Winters Porter, 71, of Spartanburg, SC, died Thursday, February 22, 2018, at Duke University Hospital. Born January 2, 1947, in Gainesville, GA, she was the daughter of the late Clifford Goldman Winters and Gladys Pass Winters and widow of William "Bill" Boyd Porter Jr. A member of St. Paul United Methodist Church, Mrs. Porter loved sewing, making quilts, and spending time with family and friends. She retired from the Spartanburg County Department of Social Services after 25 years of service and was a former special needs teacher. She was a graduate of Limestone College and attended the University of Georgia. Survivors include her children, William "Will" B. Porter III (Bobbi) of Greer, SC and Kathryn Porter Hooten of Asheville, NC; granddaughters, Emily Porter and Molly Porter; and sister, Rebecca Winters of Spartanburg, SC. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a brother, Clifford G. Winters Jr. Visitation will be 12:30-1:30 PM Tuesday, February 27, 2018, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 E. Main St., Spartanburg, SC 29307 with funeral services following at 2:00 PM, conducted by The Rev. John L. Warren, Jr. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307.
