Patricia Moore

Patricia "Pat" Ann Moore, 72, of Roebuck, SC, died Monday, September 2, 2013, at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. Born April 26, 1941, in Inman, SC, she was the daughter of Amelia B. Moore of Roebuck, SC, and the late J. T. Moore. Pat was a Science teacher at Byrnes High School, a Resource teacher for Carver Jr. High School, and retired from The School for the Deaf and Blind. After retirement, she was a consultant for NASA. She received her AS Degree from Perkinston Jr. College in Wiggins, MS, a BS Degree from the University of Southern Mississippi in Hattiesburg, MS, and MAT from Converse College in Spartanburg, SC. She was also a former Board member for the SC Teachers Association and member of Southside Baptist Church. Survivors include her daughter, Kimberly A. Penland (Craig) of Spartanburg, SC; grandsons, London and Kelly Penland; brother, Phillip Moore (Jane) of Rock Hill, SC; nieces, Jennifer Lemmond of Monroe, NC, and Stephanie Ellison of Rock Hill, SC; and best friends, Judy Bullington and Barbara Barnhardt. Visitation will be 10:00-10:45 AM Saturday, September 7, 2013, at the graveside, in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307. A graveside service will follow at 11:00 AM, conducted by Pastor Ken Vickery of Victor Baptist Church, Greer, SC. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Walker Foundation, 355 Cedar Springs Road, Spartanburg, SC 29302; SC School for the Deaf and Blind, 355 Cedar Springs Road, Spartanburg, SC 29302; or The American Heart Association, 3535 Pelham Road Suite 101, Greenville, SC 29615. The family is at the home of her daughter, Kimberly and Craig Penland.
