Patricia Irene Thomas

Patricia Irene Thomas, beloved daughter of the late, Woodrow Lee Melton and Mildred Catherine Jolley Melton, was born on March 18, 1949, in Spartanburg, SC. She embraced her Baptist faith and had a deep love for Jesus throughout her life. She passed away on Wednesday, November 8, 2023.

Patricia embarked on an extraordinary career journey, defying expectations and charting her own course. At the age of 57, she pursued a new path when she became a CDL truck driver. Patricia's determination and grit brought her success as she embraced the open road as a long-haul truck driver. Her adventurous spirit and passion for traveling allowed her to explore new places and create cherished memories along the way.

Family was at the core of Patricia's being.  Patricia often regaled her loved ones with stories from her childhood, treasuring those precious moments spent growing up alongside her and stood beside Patricia through thick and thin, reminding us all of the power of unity that can be found within a family.

Patricia's own family blossomed as she became a devoted mother to Lisa Melton and her partner, Eddie Kellett, and her granddaughter,  Jessica Ancone,  four great grandchildren, Daniel, Triston Brayden, and Emilee; siblings,  Robert Melton, Juanita Barnett, Glen Melton a special niece, Angela Fain and an extended loving family of nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her siblings, Ann Chitwood, Evelyn Fowler, Janet Melton, and Gary Melton, and two grandchildren, Pamela Smith and Shawn Ancone.

Patricia's fondest moments were often spent in the company of her beloved cats. Their companionship brought comfort and solace to her throughout the years. Her home was filled with warmth and whiskers as she shared an incredible bond with these cherished feline friends.

Services to remember Patricia's remarkable life will take place on November 14, 2023. The visitation will be held from 12:00 PM to 12:45 PM at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel located at 2075 E Main St in Spartanburg, SC. Following the visitation, a funeral service will commence at 1:00 PM at the same location. Patricia will be laid to rest in the peaceful embrace of Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, located at 1300 Fernwood Glendale Rd in Spartanburg. The burial ceremony will begin at 2:00 PM with Rev. David Moore officiating.
