Patricia Jean Bennett Gardner, 69, of Spartanburg, SC, died Wednesday, September 18, 2013, at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home. Born June 10, 1944, in Spartanburg, she was the daughter of the late Charles Bennett and Margie Camby Bennett Moore. She is survived by her first husband, G. Wayne Gilbert, and the widow of her second husband, Allen Gardner. Mrs. Gardner was a resident of Eden Terrace since December 2009 where she was loved by staff and residents and was a friend to all. A loving grandmother, she was also an artist who enjoyed painting, sewing, arts and crafts, and a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Spartanburg 1st Ward. She was formerly employed by Prima Knit. Survivors include her children, Johnny Edward "Eddie" Gilbert of Chino, CA, and Angela Gilbert Mathis (Steve) of Cowpens, SC; five grandchildren, Casey Mathis, Catelyn Mathis, Connor Mathis, Alex Mathis, and Cross Mathis; step-father, Leonard Moore of Jonesville, SC; and brothers, Chuck Bennett (Cathy) of Pacolet, SC, and Danny Moore of Jonesville, SC. She is also predeceased by a sister, Annette Duncan. Visitation will be 1:00-1:45 PM Friday, September 20, 2013, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 E. Main St., Spartanburg, SC 29307. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 PM, at the Chapel, conducted by Bishop Dennis DeVaney and eulogist, Mr. Steve Mathis. Entombment will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens Heritage Chapel Mausoleum, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307. Memorials may be made to Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home, 686 Jeff Davis Drive, Spartanburg, SC 29303; or Eden Terrace Employee Fund, 2780 East Main Street, Spartanburg, SC 29307. The family is at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Angela and Steve Mathis, 4813 Cannons Campground Road, Cowpens, SC 29330.
